Leopold Medley is a professional video editor and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY.
Medley was born in 2000 in Houston, Texas. They shot their first short at age 11 and completed their first feature at 14 which was screened at the historic Park Theatre Opera House in Erie, PA.
After graduating from high school, Medley moved to New York City and dropped out of film school to work on Broad City (Season 5). After a stint as an assistant editor for commercials and a ghost-hunting reality series “Kindred Spirits”, Medley became lead assistant editor for MTV. Today, they work as a freelance editor for major studios like Paramount Global and BuzzFeed Studios, editing short-form creatives that stop thumbs and change the world.
In 2023, they returned to narrative cinema with their short dramatic film "The Bottle Collector", official selection at the New York Short Film Festival. They followed this up in 2024 by co-directing “Dinner at 67” with their partner Nisha Modi, official selection at the Imagine This Women’s International Film Festival. Medley also created “The Winter Hike” with Broadway regulars Steve Brustein and Georgia Kate Haege, nominated for best micro-short at the New York Long Island Film Festival.
